A lo largo de su historia, el ser humano aprende a relacionar los elementos con los que interactúa. A través de incesantes e intrincadas interacciones adquirimos cognición que permite fenómenos tan ricos como organizar y categorizar, entre otros, para poder entender (y actuar en) el contexto físico y social. El conocido rol de la capacidad de relacionar en jerarquía, tan complejo como versátil, tan omnipresente en todos los fenómenos de conducta humana compleja.

Hace apenas una década comenzó a investigarse en profundidad experimental cómo esto sucedía. ¿Cómo damos significado a las cosas? ¿Cómo nos damos significado a nosotros mismos? ¿Qué papel cumple hacerlo? ¿Cómo respondemos a hacerlo y qué impacto tiene?

Preguntas de inmensa relevancia científica en el fenómeno que ocupa nuestra ciencia –y es que son fenómenos vivos, contextuales, cambiantes. El ser humano, lejos de ser un contenedor estático y definido de experiencias, continúa durante toda su vida interaccionando, actuando, substrayendo significado y moldeándose, para bien o para mal…

El 13 de diciembre Jorge Villarroel defendió su tesis doctoral “Análisis empírico de la respuesta jerárquica derivada” bajo la dirección de Carmen Luciano y Francisco Molina en la Universidad de Almería. Los años de recorrido experimental en los diversos estudios de esta tesis, unido a los anteriores pasos dados en esta línea de investigación, han dado el potencial de avanzar en la comprensión del rol de la capacidad de organizar jerárquicamente los elementos de nuestro contexto y, con ello, continuar potenciando la investigación traslacional en el ámbito aplicado.

Un paso más hacia la comprensión de los apasionantes mecanismos y procesos que subyacen el comportamiento humano.
